Have had my new Mazda (2014 Mazda 6 2.0 Manual) for a couple of months now and I have started to notice a few issues when accelerating and was hoping someone maybe able to shed some light on what it could possibly be. 1: In the low gears (1-3) and around 2k RPM trying to accelerate feels really jerky, car bucks back and forward.
The 2.0L R20 has an aluminum open-deck cylinder block. Unlike the R18, the R20 engine block has a balancer shaft and additional casting for it. Inside the engine, there is a new crankshaft and shortened connecting rods (152.63 mm) due to the longer stroke (96.9 mm). Pistons are the same as the R18 has.
The problems with Mazda diesels are well-documented. It's rather an illogical reaction to assume that everything Mazda produces is suspect. The reputation of their petrol engines is excellent. The CX-5 is a lovely car. I've been running the petrol version for a few (trouble-free) years now and am very happy with it.
Tried a Mazda 2.5l 6 older model with manual gear change..was disappointed. Haven't tried an auto Mazda 6 with a 2.0l engine but just know I will be disappointed. Honda accord? Any other petrol, auto 2l cars out there?? PS You can bluechip the 20l ecoboost engine to take it from 203bhp to 240bhp and similar mpg. JUst got to find a decent one now.
