A new OTA file for Huawei Mate S is now available that will take your device to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The OTA comes to us officially with a Stable build that Huawei released recently. When i let it die, and then plug it in it boots to android. But as soon as i reboot it, it will go back in to the Factory Rset procedure. Also adb reboot bootloader does not send it to bootloader so i can unlock the bootloader. I also tried putting firmware (UPDATE.APP) on an external SD card, but it will not do anything with that either.

check if twrp and ROM depend on a specific firmware, which you can install from recovery. "fastboot boot twrp.img" instead of "fastboot flash". "fastboot reboot recovery" right after flashing. remove the battery right after flashing. try every way to boot into recovery several times, sometimes the first try just doesn't work.

I've really f*cked up the Huawei P8 Lite of a friend, when trying to root it with CWM and Supersu package. He once tried it himself, but that ended up with a new paperweight and he got a new one from the seller. The old one could boot to TWRP, but ended up with a bootloop when trying to install supersu. The new one can't even get into TWRP or CWM!
